The January 2018 figures have been released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and both the national and state based seasonally adjusted unemployment rates remained steady at 5.5% and 5.7% respectively.
The number of people now in jobs though January increased by 23,000 to almost 12.5 million although unemployment increased 2,600 to 720,200 according to the abs.gov.au
