WA Unemployment Rate Drops

Employment:

Seasonally adjusted employment in WA increased by 0.2% to 1,352,257 during October 2018. Australia’s seasonally adjusted employment rose by 0.3% to 12,671,542.

Unemployment:

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in WA decreased to 5.7% during October 2018, down from a rate of 6.0% in September. Australia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 5% in October 2018.

Participation Rate:

WA’s seasonally adjusted participation rate decreased to 68.5% in October 2018, down from 68.6% in September. Australia’s seasonally adjusted participation rate rose to 65.6% during October 2018. Even with a decrease, WA is still has the highest participation rate by State, with the lowest rate being in Tasmania (60.9%).
