Western Australia was one of five states / territories to record steady unemployment rates for October 2019 compared to the previous month. The national rate also remained steady in terms of Trend Unemployment at 5.3% for the month.
New South Wales and Northern Territory recorded increases both of 0.2% to 4.7% and 5.9% respectively.
Tasmania was the only state to record a lower unemployment rate – 0.1% lower in October at 6.1% Trend Unemployment.
