Seasonally the WA unemployment rate has dropped from 5.7% in November to 5.4% for December 2019. Both Queensland and Tasmania record larger declines for the month while Victoria was the only state to record an increase for the month.
According the the figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (abs.gov.au) the Australia’s trend estimate of employment increased by 17,500 people in December 2019, with the number of unemployed people decreasing by 4,400 people and the unemployment rate decreasing by less than 0.1 pts to 5.1%.
