Service Engineer

Our client is a global supplier of laboratory equipment that are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join their Perth-based team to service WA in metro and regional areas to install, service and provide after-service care for equipment, specifically:


  • Mechanical gas flow controllers
  • Electronic mass flow controllers
  • Solid state infrared and thermal conductivity gas detection systems
  • Small electrochemical solenoids
  • Small AC & DC pumps
  • Analytical weighing systems
  • Laboratory ovens/furnaces

As well as performing from home clerical duties to ensure all interactions, contacts and general information within the database is up to date.


What you'll be doing:

  • Always work in a safe manner and respect safety guidelines of Clients on their sites
  • Performance of field service (which includes fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, breakdown service, instrument installations and operator training) on client instruments
  • Client relationship management
  • Responsible for planning and managing own time and travel arrangements under management guidelines
  • Driving or Flying out to site as necessary (always home for weekends)
  • Ensuring that clients are using our clients' consumables and spares when on site

What you'll need:

  • Tertiary Electronic / Electrical Qualification licensed to work on 240 Volts AC 50 Hz single phase systems (up to 50 amps), and able to work on DC systems up to 24 Volts
  • Experience servicing, break down repairs, installation and operator training of chemical laboratory instruments and / or gas flow process control instrumentation
  • Experience with diagnosing problems and servicing of gas flow systems and the equipment listed above
  • Diagnosis and servicing of digital and analog circuits
  • Fluent with analytical calibration of chemical laboratory instruments and / or gas flow process control instrumentation
  • Tertiary chemistry qualification and hands on laboratory experience in operating chemical laboratory instruments and / or gas chromatography mass spectrometer systems is desirable
