Web Job Adverts Bounce

As is customary for this time of year, the number of new job advertisements dips by up to 30% due to the holiday season. In addition to the routine bounce back after the break, they have recovered above expected levels to be at 4 month highs and not too far away from 5 year highs.
The numbers on Seek also stack up well for jobs in Perth since annual agreements with their high end users of the job board were substantially changed (annual agreements at higher prices) and the numbers contributed by those users have declined.
According to Seek.com.au some of the recent stats highlight:
- The only state to record an increase in job advertisements last year was in WA
- All capital cities except Perth have seen a decline in job ad volumes
- NSW recorded the largest decline in ads year on year at -14.0% and NT was -12.7%
- Over the past year there was an overall job ad decline of 7.3% year-on-year
- The Community Service & Development sector came out in front with 8.7% year-on-year growth
- Mining, Resources & Energy was 3rd on the list after Health & Medical
- Design & Architecture industry recorded the largest decline at -26.5%
